Boko Haram: Christians elders forum furious with Buhari over killing of 11 hostages.

The National Christian Elders Forum has heavily criticised President Buhari for the recent killing of 11 Christians on Christmas Day by insurgents – The Christian elders said the president should be held responsible for the terrorist killings – Amid other recommendations, the NCEF said Buhari should restructure the appointments in the country’s national security units to reflect the federal character principle The National Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) has reportedly expressed anger over the killing of 11 Christians on Christmas Day by Boko Haram insurgents. Recall that the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram terrorists, had released a video showing 13 men out of whom 11 were reportedly killed. The Nation reports that the NCEF was furious with President Muhammadu Buhari, saying the president should be held responsible for the terrorist killings.

The Christian elders said President Buhari should restructure the appointments in the country’s national security units to reflect the federal character principle if he “is sincere that Islamic terrorists are “godless, callous gangs of mass murderers”.

A statement signed by the chairman of the NCEF, Elder Solomon Asemota, SAN, described the killing of the Christians on Christmas day as a deliberate desecration of the Holy day. The Christian elders also stated that all the terrorists that have been allegedly assimilated into the Nigeria Army should be dismissed. They claimed that the solution to the problem of terrorism in Nigeria is for Democracy to remain the only national ideology upon which the country is governed.
